Luxury apartmenthosue, Budapest

info

This wonderful villa can be discovered through an unusual web page. ZOA designed this web page using its own imagery. The home view is one of the best looks of the building and one can change its illumination to see how the villa looks throughout the day. Users can pick an apartment through another view of the villa: lights of the chosen apartment will turn on as the mouse rolls over.

Ferihegy, T2 Terminal – Lighting Concept Visualization

4th Jun 2009

info

Lighting is usually a free part of our job. We do not get lighting plans about the buildings we visualize. In the case of the Budapest Airport it was different: this was basically the first time that ZOA had to present not only photorealistic interior spaces, furniture and materials according to plans but also interior lighting. Our client the Lisys Inc and György Simkó designer at V. Design had a pretty solid plan about interior lighting of the new international terminal at Budapest Airport. They choose an exclusive lighting system integrated into the Barrisol ceiling and picked the lighting products by catalog numbers. They wanted us to represent all those information in our photo realistic imagery so that they can enrich their presentation of technical drawings and specifications by images that are easily understandable for everybody.

Design was concentrated to the two most representative space with the biggest passenger traffic. Lighting is crucial in this rooms: the departure lounge and the sky court with its fancy shops and cafes. They had to provide homogeneous illumination combined with an eye-catching design. Besides realistic illumination we also wanted to catch the air of an international terminal with its multi-cultural traffic and colorful and intense life.

European Capital of Culture 2010 – ECC City, Pécs

21st Feb 2009

info

This movie shows the revitalization plans of public spaces in the ECC city, Pécs. To present plans for a whole district or town in an esthetical way is a rather demanding task. Birds-eye-view perspectives have to be filled with whole 3d towns and cities, while the actual development takes up only small part of the imagery. In this movie we solved this problem by accenting public places with colors. This composition of photo realsitic and mock-up styles lead to a harmonic video. Deeper relationships and properties of the design that are hard to be presented by film were shown through stitching together a virtual layout and the proposed 3d spaces via computer graphics. At the end of the movie the separate virtual worlds come together at a cafe table on the bank of the Balokany lake.

Rácz Hotel & Thermal Spa

6th Jan 2009

info

A company constructs an up-to-date five star hotel right beside the mind-boggling turkish medieval bath and the proper foyer building by architect giant Miklós Ybl that is called Rácz fürdő. ZOA had to visualize the spa part of the project. In the focus of our graphics it was haziness and intimate illumination as for the Medieval bath and flamboyant details as for the 19th century building. The prior demanded a bit more experiments since one can start to deal with water and haze in very different approaches in CG. It is worth to look around before deciding which way to go. The latter – to visualize a 19th century building full of details – simply accounts for a lot of modeling work. While modeling ornamental details can be quite tricky it is also rather giving: details contribute a lot to the aestethic of an image.

Revitalisation of the Nádasdy-Schöller Castle, Hungary

29th May 2008

info

This castle resides in a vast and unique tree-garden. It is the perfect surroundings for an extreme apartment-park project. Our Client started this project after spending a few days in tree-top resort in Brazil. He decided to build exclusive apartments of a real high architectural standard among the foliage of this beautiful park. The program also includes classic hotel rooms in the listed Nádasdy-Schöller Castle and a spa built around the ruins int the garden. Presumably it is going to be world-famous tourist attraction, one of its own kind.

Besides creating images and animation it was also our task to program the webpage for this delicate project. Its plain and simple: you can switch locations in the side menu, but images are connected with real-space camera movements. You can simply look around the whole park in a speed-up movie: as there are four locations plus the 3d site-plan we had to create 5*(5-1)/2=10 camera-routes so that you can go from all locations to all other locations…

Simplon Court

info

It was easy to catch the feeling of the very colorful building designed by Gábor Turányi and Bence Turányi: colored stripes fill the building and its neighboring space with colors. By the way it responds nicely to the project logo as well. ZOA likes to make any task challenging regarding the technical means. ING, the owner of this project left us enough time and energy to find the right challenge, and we believe this can easily be felt watching the final version of this video.

Government District Competition

10th Jul 2007

info

In the case of the government quarters competition our Client wanted us not only to create the images for the application but also to help the design process by providing constant and immediate feedback to the designer team. This helped them to fine-tune the early concept for the huge development plan. The whole team at ZOA worked a full month with the 3d model and imagery to fulfill these needs. The application received a shared 4th prize at the international competition.

“Huh, I’m a bit afraid, because the director came to me with a movie, but I’m not familiar with it. All I know is, that it’s something romantic. I hope it’s going to be funny too, but that’s one of the details I can’t know for now. The ones I have seen so far were not exactly shot in Turkey and I’m not sure whether it’s usual to renew only a part of a building in a situation like this. So far I was confident that it’s just a cardboard set, or they are going to put those huge green screens behind the actors. Anyhow, it sounds more than thrilling and I can’t say I wasn’t happy about the fact that they actually wanted me for the job. First I’m definitely going to make a couple of images about how this shooting spot will look like and then we will see how it’s going to go on. Yes, I’m sure this is a good plan, the Client will definitely like the idea, that they only have to make only a part of this gorgeous villa prettier. I wish I could be at the shooting. Do you think I’m going to meet the main actress? Did I say I was a bit in a fever?”

Reconstruction of a Steamer

28th Mar 2007

info

p>Our Client, a Danube passenger shipping company, is actually a bunch of ship minded lunatics. One of their biggest plans is to buy and completely restore one of the last major steamships that was operated on the Danube river. This ship offered all conceivable luxury of her time to the passengers. And the most interesting part of this plan is that she could be operated with the original triplex steam engine and fancy interior that you rarely see these days. She would definitely offer a service in its own class.

Images are really telling: Sándor Csepregi designer speaks early 20th century design and shipbuilding as a mother tongue. His mind-boggling hand drawings full of details and all the information he poured on ZOA ,account for ornaments that not only look good but also are extremely authentic. The result is a space that catches the eye of the spectator. And we became eager to see this glamorous ship in full splendor!

Ycon 3d’sign competition – 2005

3rd Sep 2006

info

These images were submitted to the YCON 2005 visualization competition. All of these have a bit different story. The surpise is fast evolution in visualisation in general: good materilas and nice illumination were enough to win a competition in 2005 while you have to come up with more serious staff today to get a prize: subject, details, composition, effects all has to be appropriately done. Well, this is hell of a dynamic market… Let’s go to work!
