We are architects and illustrators. We are addicted to imagery. It is our profession. Constantly observing and constantly dreaming. And we know how to show the world that resides in our minds. What might be known about digital imagery - we have learned. What even others don't know - we have started to hammer out. Image is everything for us. An impression about a non-existing world. Hordes of pixels in constant motion. And we master those pixels without restrictions.

Talentis image movie

2nd Dec 2009

info

Talentis Project is probably the biggest regional development project today in Hungary. Similarly to the story of Silicon Valley, the whole project is based on investment into every level of educational institutions. Real estate development connect to this kind of development of the region. This promotional video had to express this very complex subject.

First we had to grab the most important thoughts about the Talentis Project with eye on the limited length of the clip. Than we sought for the right visual content to express the sentences we came up with. Few hours of raw material was converted into a solid video with the help of the Rubik’s Cube effects which was meant to be a metaphor for invention and knowledge. However simple it might seem to be, it was just the opposite, we struggled to link visual content to what we wanted to say and harmonize both with the rolling cube and each other.

Concept plan of condominium, Zamárdi, Hungary

5th Oct 2009

info

Maximum volume in accordance with the local ruling and maximum luxury. This could be an abstract for the competition, in which ZOA participated when designing this building. A strictly square form responds to the first condition, while vast glass structures, printed forest-pattern on the shades and fluid space respond to the latter. Byproduct of all that is a super-rational floor plan that is a perfect base for cost effective construction apart from the more or less exclusive outer skin of the building. Geometrical feel of the strict shapes is compensated by the curving green structure of the cafe that looks over the lake. Thus the city could receive a new emblematic place besides five star apartments. This application was granted a shared 2nd prize behind two more conventional concepts that received the shared 1st prize.

Ferihegy, T2 Terminal – Lighting Concept Visualization

4th Jun 2009

info

Lighting is usually a free part of our job. We do not get lighting plans about the buildings we visualize. In the case of the Budapest Airport it was different: this was basically the first time that ZOA had to present not only photorealistic interior spaces, furniture and materials according to plans but also interior lighting. Our client the Lisys Inc and György Simkó designer at V. Design had a pretty solid plan about interior lighting of the new international terminal at Budapest Airport. They choose an exclusive lighting system integrated into the Barrisol ceiling and picked the lighting products by catalog numbers. They wanted us to represent all those information in our photo realistic imagery so that they can enrich their presentation of technical drawings and specifications by images that are easily understandable for everybody.

Design was concentrated to the two most representative space with the biggest passenger traffic. Lighting is crucial in this rooms: the departure lounge and the sky court with its fancy shops and cafes. They had to provide homogeneous illumination combined with an eye-catching design. Besides realistic illumination we also wanted to catch the air of an international terminal with its multi-cultural traffic and colorful and intense life.

European Capital of Culture 2010 – ECC City, Pécs

21st Feb 2009

info

This movie shows the revitalization plans of public spaces in the ECC city, Pécs. To present plans for a whole district or town in an esthetical way is a rather demanding task. Birds-eye-view perspectives have to be filled with whole 3d towns and cities, while the actual development takes up only small part of the imagery. In this movie we solved this problem by accenting public places with colors. This composition of photo realsitic and mock-up styles lead to a harmonic video. Deeper relationships and properties of the design that are hard to be presented by film were shown through stitching together a virtual layout and the proposed 3d spaces via computer graphics. At the end of the movie the separate virtual worlds come together at a cafe table on the bank of the Balokany lake.

Revitalisation of the Nádasdy-Schöller Castle, Csepreg, Hungary

29th May 2008

info

This castle resides in a vast and unique tree-garden. It is the perfect surroundings for an extreme apartment-park project. Our Client started this project after spending a few days in tree-top resort in Brazil. He decided to build exclusive apartments of a real high architectural standard among the foliage of this beautiful park. The program also includes classic hotel rooms in the listed Nádasdy-Schöller Castle and a spa built around the ruins int the garden. Presumably it is going to be world-famous tourist attraction, one of its own kind.

Besides creating images and animation it was also our task to program the webpage for this delicate project. Its plain and simple: you can switch locations in the side menu, but images are connected with real-space camera movements. You can simply look around the whole park in a speed-up movie: as there are four locations plus the 3d site-plan we had to create 5*(5-1)/2=10 camera-routes so that you can go from all locations to all other locations…

Simplon Court

10th Dec 2007

info

It was easy to catch the feeling of the very colorful building designed by Gábor Turányi and Bence Turányi: colored stripes fill the building and its neighboring space with colors. By the way it responds nicely to the project logo as well. ZOA likes to make any task challenging regarding the technical means. ING, the owner of this project left us enough time and energy to find the right challenge, and we believe this can easily be felt watching the final version of this video.

Reconstruction of a Steamer

28th Mar 2007

info

p>Our Client, a Danube passenger shipping company, is actually a bunch of ship minded lunatics. One of their biggest plans is to buy and completely restore one of the last major steamships that was operated on the Danube river. This ship offered all conceivable luxury of her time to the passengers. And the most interesting part of this plan is that she could be operated with the original triplex steam engine and fancy interior that you rarely see these days. She would definitely offer a service in its own class.

Images are really telling: Sándor Csepregi designer speaks early 20th century design and shipbuilding as a mother tongue. His mind-boggling hand drawings full of details and all the information he poured on ZOA ,account for ornaments that not only look good but also are extremely authentic. The result is a space that catches the eye of the spectator. And we became eager to see this glamorous ship in full splendor!
